THE CLIENT
Mambos Group has operated in South Tyneside for 20+ years. The group now operates six restaurants throughout the North East of England with firm plans in place to expand over the coming years. Mambos are renowned for providing a premium restaurant experience and are the destination for fine dining in South Shields, Jarrow & Ponteland.
Mambos have always been at the forefront of digital innovation and have one of the largest social media followings in the North East. Mambos had a pre existing website & mobile app but were often experiencing downtime at busy periods. Mambos approached food2go to commission an ordering solution that would allow all of their sites to supplement walk in trade with a premium takeaway and collection service.
THE SOLUTION
Mambos have deployed a food2go powered solution featuring multiple branded mobile responsive ordering websites and branded mobile apps available for download on both the iOS and Android app stores. A web browser accessible admin tool allows both Mambos Group management as well as store managers at the individual restaurants to have complete control over pricing, promotions, content & products at each site.
The Mambos solution allows their restaurants to offer a bespoke mix of services including collection, delivery, table ordering & curbside collection.

The food2go solution allows Mambos to both maintain a global catalogue that is synced down to sites that share the same menu as well as allowing other sites to have a completely independent menu. The sync service can be customised to cover any combination of product title, product PLU, product price, product description, product nutritional and allergy data, product category & promotional campaigns. This allows Mambos to service multiple sites with varying product & price files.
The admin panel allows for the easy creation and issuing of push notifications, digital vouchers and interactive surveys as well as providing access to sophisticated reporting functionality. Direct customer marketing e.g push notifications can be sent to all customers or any subset of customer e.g. by store, age group or buying history.
The Mambos solution proved critical during the covid19 pandemic allowing the restaurants to pivot and provide a takeaway service as well as table ordering. In fact the takeaway and table ordering services have proven so popular the business has retained them even after all restrictions were eased.
